Sensei Meghan
Sensei Meghan began her martial arts journey at nineteen, shortly after moving from Ontario to the West Island, and quickly discovered a passion that would shape her life’s work.
With a degree in education and a natural gift for connecting with children, she developed a teaching style that blends structure, warmth, and creativity. A combination that has made her a favourite in local daycares and youth programs for over a decade.
Her vision continues to guide the heart of Tsuyosa Martial Arts.
Sensei Steve
Bringing over three decades of martial arts experience to Tsuyosa Martial Arts, though his fascination with the arts began long before he ever stepped onto the mats.
Over the years, he has studied disciplines such as Karate, Boxing and the classical Japanese art of Tenshin Shoden Katori Shinto‑ryu, deepening both his technical skill and his understanding of karate’s historical roots.
As a certified personal trainer, he also brings strong knowledge of movement, conditioning, and biomechanics to his teaching.
Sensei Alan
Sensei Alan holds the distinction of being the very first black belt to come out of Tsuyosa Martial Arts, setting a standard of dedication and perseverance that continues to inspire students today.
With a background in multiple martial arts disciplines, he brings a broad, well‑rounded perspective to his teaching. His deep technical knowledge, steady presence, and commitment to lifelong learning make him a valued part of the Tsuyosa team.
Sensei Victor
One of the earliest black belts to emerge from Tsuyosa Martial Arts, and his impact on the dojo has been felt ever since.
A beloved school teacher and talented musician, he brings creativity, patience, and a natural gift for connecting with students of all ages. With an encouraging, upbeat energy that reflects both his teaching background and his artistic spirit..

Sensei Alison
Sensei Alison earned her black belt at Tsuyosa, becoming one of the earliest graduating groups.
Off the mats, she works closely with children who have special needs, bringing exceptional patience, empathy, and insight to her teaching. Her ability to support students with warmth and understanding makes her a deeply valued member of the Tsuyosa team. In every class, Sensei Alison creates a positive, inclusive environment where students feel safe, encouraged, and capable of growing at their own pace. A true reflection of the dojo’s core values.
Sensei John
Sensei John has been immersed in karate since 1983 and brings decades of experience to the Tsuyosa community. A san‑dan in Kenpo Karate, he has also trained in Shito‑Ryu, Okinawan Kobudo, and now Wado‑Ryu, giving him a broad and well‑rounded martial arts background. He has played an important role in advancing inclusive karate across Canada. As a certified Level B Provincial Judge with Karate Canada, he worked alongside the head coach of the Canadian Para‑Karate Team to help create accessible training environments for athletes with disabilities, particularly at the grassroots level. His ongoing work includes developing coaching resources and presenting at the 2018 national summit, a key step in expanding para‑karate programs across the country.
Sensei John’s dedication, expertise, and commitment to inclusion make him a valued part of Tsuyosa Martial Arts.
